Rouses Markets Donates $7,500 to Second Harvest for Tornado Relief Efforts in Slidell

Family owned Rouses Markets has donated $7,500 to Second Harvest to aid in food and supply distribution efforts following last week’s tornado, thanking the food bank for getting nourishing meals to families and individuals after disasters.  .

Donny Rouse, CEO of Rouses Markets, underscored the company’s commitment to Slidell, where Rouses Markets has maintained a store for nearly two decades, affirming his family, the company and the store in Slidell are all dedicated to helping the community as it rebuilds.

“When disaster strikes, we stand ready to help. That’s what we’re here for.” says Rouse. After a storm, hurricane, tornado or flooding event, we actively work with our local food banks and first responders in providing food to help those in need. It’s what we’ve done for nearly 65 years.”

This contribution is another example of Rouses Markets’ ongoing dedication to the communities it serves. With more than 7,000 team members in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama, the company is steadfast in its commitment to assisting those affected by disasters like this, and supporting hunger-relief efforts year-round.
