Honey Garlic Chicken

Ingredients

8 boneless chicken thighs, skin-on or skinless

Salt, to taste

Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

2 tablespoons Rouses authentic Italian olive oil, or as needed

½ medium onion, finely chopped

1 head garlic (10 to 12 cloves), chopped

1 cup Rouses honey

½ cup soy sauce

1 pinch garlic powder, or to taste

1 pinch onion powder, or to taste

¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro or flat-leaf parsley

Directions

Season chicken thighs on both sides with salt and pepper.

Heat olive oil in a large cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and sear for 3 to 5 minutes, until the first side is golden brown.

Turn the chicken over, add the chopped onion and garlic, and cook for another 5 to 7 minutes, until the chicken is nearly cooked through and the vegetables are tender.

Transfer chicken to a plate. Add honey, soy sauce, garlic powder and onion powder to the skillet. Stir to combine, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.

Return chicken to the skillet. Cover, reduce heat to medium, and cook until chicken is fully cooked through, and the sauce is slightly thickened, about 10 minutes, turning once halfway through. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the chicken should read 165°F.

Transfer the chicken to a serving platter, spoon the pan sauce over the top, and finish with chopped cilantro or parsley. Serve immediately.
