Cindy’s Almost Famous Roux
3-4 Quarts Water (start with 3 and add from there, depending on the thickness you desire)
½ Jar Better than Bouillon Chicken Base
1 pack Cindy’s Almost Famous Roux
3-4 lbs peeled and deveined shrimp
1-2 lbs Crab Claw meat
1 lb oysters (optional)
1 lb smothered okra (optional)
1 Bunch Green Onions (scallions) chopped
In an 8 Quart Pot, bring water and Better than Bouillon to a boil.
Add smothered Okra (optional) and ROUX and dissolve it into the stock. Bring back to a boil then reduce heat to medium/low and cook for 45-60 minutes.
Add Shrimp, bring to a boil then reduce heat to medium/low and cook for 15 minutes.
Add oysters (optional) and crabmeat, bring back to a boil then reduce heat to medium/low and cook 15 minutes.
Add chopped green onions and continue to simmer another 15 minutes.
